Updating My Playlist

Woman with headphones in the moonlight

I’ve been a music fan all of my life. I was one of those kids who remembers the words to every song I’ve heard. In fact, when I couldn’t get my multiplication tables, my mother got me the Schoolhouse Rock, Multiplication Rock album (Yes, I am old enough that it was an actual vinyl record).

I’ve never really listened to a lot of gospel or contemporary Christian. Recently though, I have felt convicted to listen to more Christian music. I just don’t know where to start. I do know that I’m not a fan of choir music.

There is a playlist I have of Christian songs I have on YouTube. However, in looking at the list, I realized all of these songs were around 7 years old or older!

What I want to do is list some of my playlist, the songs I enjoy, and why I enjoy them.

What I want you to do, in the comments, is list some songs you think I’d enjoy and some artist that I should check out.

Awesome Remix, Charles Jenkins
Of all of the songs on this list, this one is my favorite. I like the messages, the verses and even the rap. I like that it is mainly a praise song.

So Will I (100 Billion Times), Hillsong United
I am familiar with some of the controversy surrounding Hillsong, but I love this song. It has lots of good memories, when I was in Ghana getting married, Michael and I would get up and pray overlooking the Atlantic Ocean while playing this song!

I Got That, Anthony Brown and Group Therapy
While I can appreciate a good ballad, I am more a fan of mid-tempo to up-tempo songs and I like this one a lot. This song get me pumped up. I know what they are singing about knowing where their help comes from.

Changed, Jordan Feliz
I have been changed, so I feel this song. I actually really like the video too. I was introduced to Jordan Feliz when I asked for her suggestions for contemporary inspirational music. This is one of many songs of his that I like

I'm looking forward to hearing your suggestions!
